A-Z Challenge 2017 Theme Reveal

I have been sitting in front of the laptop , keying letters and hitting backspace button more often than usual.Writing seems like an alien to me. The loveliest road I once travelled and have  forgotten the directions to take.Last post I actually wrote was for the 2016 A-Z challenge.Ghosh! it's once year already and I am here getting ready for my next challenge. How Time flies!

Though I was was very well aware that I had not written a word for an year now, I constantly followed my favorite blogs. Not a single post I missed in their space.I was still a part of the blogging world. Not writing but reading and connecting with fellow bloggers.I gave my complete time, attention and myself to my baby and I am thoroughly enjoying this phase. When a strong urge keep pulling me to write and I was breaking gas promises to myself, I thought of  than A-Z challenge 2017 to refuel my passion.I thought hard about my theme. Last year,I had written posts  on Human emotions and my happiness after I kept up with  a month of writing was priceless. The  virtual connections, stories from other world, interesting themes, knowledge nuggets across blogverse was unmatchable. It was so much activity, food for thought, and a happening month for me.This year as I journey the new mommyhood, I thought it will be relevant and easy for me to talk about my new phase of life as we two became three.

I have roughly laid out the post in my head and the ideas are still in air.I will be talking about work-life-balance after baby, growing along with baby, womanhood, touching topics on feminism... actually trying to cover various pieces of the puzzle. I know it is a difficult commitment to keep up with a hectic job, baby and the managing the house. But, I am being very positive to take this up and survive it through.

Z:Zealous life on wheels A-Z Challenge 2016

"Human Emotions and Qualities" is my theme for A-Z Blogging challenge 2016

There is something very beautiful about traveling. Some one rightly said, life's best lessons are obtained by reading good books or traveling to  places. The lessons one learns about life while exploring places, meeting various people, confronting diverse cultures, trying hands at local cuisines will be etched for lifetime.I was never a travel freak until my college days.Having a group of friends who can not rest their bum at home is the onset of going places. The six people in our group always would plan a semester holiday after our exams.A share of our pocket money(which was no easy task to gather) was always set for this one day trip we used to take together. What jolly days we had, each one of us packing food from our house and managing to have loads to fun with our medium budgets.(takes me back to those days:))

My husband, my best friend then was the one who mainly chalked out our plans. His zeal for travel and his passion to explore the entire world one day was a well known fact in the group. Thanks to my lucky stars for not only making my best friend my partner in life, but also his travel companion. After the travel bug bit me, wanderlust took over and there was no looking back since then.We were the couple who had just managed to take loan for the wedding expenses to entertain few thousand strangers, taking baby steps in our career then with the paychecks to just meet our ends decently.Despite accepting the bundle of troubles that came with inter-caste marriage and having a early wedding (read both at 23), we never let the lust to travel die.We together managed our meager savings then to quench our thirst to go places. We are not the ones who crave for luxuries. We never are particular to go to exotic places, booking 5 star hotels and going to costly hotels.Less is more best works for us.We love spending time in nature, with nature.Talk about a beach side walk, a trek on a hill, camping for star gazing, a never ending talk on the green meadow, a waterfall, a drink in a hammock lake side, we are all up for it.Nothing equals the joy of being with the nature and it's gorgeous elements.

Instead of a dignified and sophisticated dinner on a costly cruise we prefer to explore the local street food to the fullest and being comfortable in our skin. There is definitely something wonderful about this.Drive in our beloved royal enfield, car, by air, by train, by bus we have explored it all and wait, we love to try the combinations. One best lesson we have learnt about traveling is keeping our expectations low about a placing we are heading to.We just go there and make the most of it.Trust me, we have had our share of troubles and hiccups, but we did not compromise it for the fun we have together.

We try to keep each trip interesting and different than our previous ones.Once if we try a lazy vacation, once we are geared up for a adventurous one.If going by itinerary( rarely happens) is for one trip the other goes with out any plan laid out.Once a drive in rain and once trek in fog. After all we suck at keeping them monotonous. There are random trips which were planned midnight and we escape early morning.

Being in US for more than a year now, we have checked out many places in our bucket list. What can be the best time other than unemployment for sometime, to explore our passion.Numerous places to go and ample experiences to treasure for lifetime.Who wants to put all the money in gold, costly clothes, unnecessary show off to society when every penny invested in travel is so much worth it.My dream list of places-to-go is endless. The top most being my own country itself.Yes, I want to go visit every inch of India.Soak in the pride, heritage and beauty of  the place.

The common zeal keeps us going.A travel tales gets added to the treasure of our memory.Together we shall keep going until we can quench the thirst of our wander lust.

Rediscovering ourselves in  every place destiny takes us to.

Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things – air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” – Cesare Pavese

Y:In 'Y'our arms A-Z Challenge 2016

Hand in hand we walk
besides the calm and still water
talking in silence, eye to eye
leaving the world behind us

Falling in your arms
the  kingdom of love I own
You, me and the warmth we share
saying nothing, says it all

Dancing slowly in the moonlight
whispering in your soft and nice tone
assuring everything will be alright
Never letting go of each other

Promise of Love and togetherness
trust and care we mutually share
despite conflicts and confusions
A hug to suffice, never to make it a big deal

Counting our blessings each day
thanking the stars for each others presence
in times high and low, rough and smooth
In your arms, a smile adorns my face and strength grips my heart

X:Xenophobic #A-Z Challenge 2016

"Human Emotions and Qualities" is my theme for A-Z Blogging challenge 2016

Xenophobic is a word I have learnt to write for this post. Since I am writing about human feelings and emotions, looking of it's kind beginning with 'X', frankly, I did not have a clue until I googled for it.
Xenophobic means afraid or fearful of the strangers or unknown or foreigners.
I was quite Xenophobic when I travelled to US alone. This one being my first international trip there were certain fears and adjustments just like anyone had to go through. Right from catching upon the accent ( yes I had to request them to repeat what they said as it was not easy to get it on the first go), food, people, culture, work atmosphere and what not- was no cake walk. 'Pardon', 'come again' were used quite commonly used by me.
What with everyone talking their own version of English!
I would not say I was exactly afraid to talk to strangers, but in a new place like New York were one finds people from every piece of the world, it takes time to get used to the city itself. It just needed some time to look at the beauty of the city with a open mind, fearless eyes and get used to it slowly. Exploring new places right from knowing where to pick groceries, how credit card works here, road lane discipline, talking to cross cultural neighbors, making new friends, finding the best international pack to make calls to India..Uffff...the list seems to have no end.
I laugh at myself today, when I can walk on streets of the city midnight confidently all alone, smile at the strangers, exchange hellos and have been independently do things on my own. So, I am no more Xenophobic I can say.
Have you also felt xenophobic when you travelled to a new city or country? Share your experiences here.

W: Woman, watch your steps #A-Z Challenge 2016

     Her life frightfully changes overnight
entering a house of strangers, every wall eager to tear her
one occasion, three knots, signs for huge expectations
relentlessly toil, act and fear for the rest of life
her family's pride decided by her behavior
submissive to husband, in-laws and the society
giving up her career, passion and herself slowly
getting sucked into a place of void and loneliness
Her problems and pain camouflaged with a fake smile
she is decided  by the clothes she wear
the time she gets up and the meal she cooks
often judged by how the guests are  treated by her
time and again, she is the topic to be picked upon
Everything changed in a span of day
shifting from a place of love, care and freedom
to where she does not belong to
striving every day, catering unwillingly to cheap souls
Woman, oh woman
watch your moves,  look at yourself
Be the change you want to see
A life you are gifted, needs approval from none
Do not bother about the ever watching eyes
sacrifices and compromises are not your assets
Love only ones who deserve to be loved
save yourself from the tornados around waiting to swallow you
Your dreams, desires and aims don't end here
If you feel you are out of zone
build the one, where life is still a life you wanted
Woman, you were not born to toil and satisfy any
Stop looking for help from outside
nothing will change, it will never
until you muster courage to save yourself
for the power and potential within, you only need some awareness
For you have this precious life
Live it by your rules, your principles
It is okay to break barriers at times
Oh woman, stop being a victim and stand for the woman you are.
